Cadillac Mountain, Acadia National Park, September, 2019.

Not a model. Not my spouse. She was just standing there, alone, doing that swept back Titanic thing for about 15 seconds. I wasn't ready, but I got it together as fast as I could to get that.

One more "generic" shot from Lake Louise then on to O'Hara with larches up against Mt Schaffer

There were about 400 of us set up around the lake for sunrise and these two hipsters roll out of their sprinter van with a large blue kayak and proceed to paddle in circles screwing up the reflection. Lots of murmuring from the crowd of course. Finally one British guy says, "OY! You two! Bugger off!" to cheers from the onlookers and the paddlers paddle away. They didn't come ashore that I could see and were probably afraid to.

Oh boy, here we go.

Y'all took a picture of the same thing, at the same time, using (presumably) similar equipment. The group that was there the day before, and the day after, likely did the same thing. If that's not generic I don't know what is.

Post a shot of the Brit accosting the kayakers. Let's see the drama. The heated moment where militant landscape photographers and boatbound hipsters clash in an epic battle to rule Lake Louise.

That would be interesting.

Look, your pictures are nice. It's the tough guy routine that makes me laugh. I mean, you guys were gonna rough up a couple of kayakers... for kayaking.

Surely you can handle an online pot shot making fun of the obviously ridiculous scene it must have been.

In my estimation, the soft light from the cabin really makes this shot!

Very well done sir!

After some time with the masses at Louise and Moraine we headed into the woods to Lake O'Hara hoping to get ahead of some seriously wet weather moving in.

Sounds like the crowds are up there are at least as large as they are here in Colorado at the Maroon Bells, I think everyone wants to be out there these days. I wish you could send a little of that snow our way, bone dry down here. I am curious about those yellowish/brownish trees - are those dead pine trees where the needles have dried out and turned brown? And is there some sort of blight if that's what is happening?

Yeah our Mount Rainier finally got some snow so it looks like less of a bare 14,000 foot rock

The golden trees are Larches that turn gold at a certain point in the fall, usually by elevation. Here's another shot from that tarn, and then walking along the trail to the viewpoint:

Odd, didn't know there was such a thing as a conifer type tree that changed colors and shed its needles (Wikipedia calls it a deciduous conifer). We have that pine beetle knocking out entire mountainsides worth of trees, so when I see something like a pine tree turning colors I've become conditioned to expect it to be due to a pest of some sort.

Quite the scenic region you were at...

Thanks :) I took a friend of mine with me for a quick Canadian Rockies tour who had never been up there. He was speechless at the scenery. We did some tent camping and hotels in between

I love these so much!!! The same landscape has been taken for millions of times but by including people (and better, photographers) in the scene they look so much more lively.

And you own Eye of Sauron???

You certainly got a nice set of shots on your trip. How do you find working with the Fuji files? The GFX50 is CMOS and not Xtrans isn't that correct?

Yes about the sensor. I was mostly shooting three shot brackets and using the darker and middle ones. Working with the colors is pretty straightforward. WB is mostly As Shot but sometimes warmed up a bit.

'scuse me while I go over to Amazon to get another 8TB backup drive (yes those fuji 120 meg RAW files add up)
