Busted out the tripod this weekend! I feel I should get a bit closer to things in general for wide-angle shots, but it's really uncomfortable scrunching down to check through the viewfinder.

Thank you!

Having a flippy screen (maybe even a touchscreen...) is on my wishlist whenever/if I ever get around to upgrading. :-)

This seems like it would make a nice color photo, I thought it would when I took it anyway, but when I got it on the computer it was sort of eh. Tried B&W, works better this way.

Grand Canyon, two image pano, HDR. This is from a couple of weeks ago. If you look to the far lower left, the white speck on the hill... it's a person and a group of people. Image on Flickr is 2500px wide if you want to take a look. :)

that is one way to give a sense of scale for that place...its a hard thing to communicate for sure.

Many thanks. I thought about removing them from the scene, however, if I print it large, I think they will add to just how vast the canyon really is.

so, are these specific filter packages run thru Lightroom, or HDR?

HDR Efex Pro --- Nik filters.

I started with 2 images... created a panorama in Photoshop. I then used HDR Efex to create the HDR image. I worked on the image in Photoshop as well... dodge/burn/sharpen etc. The challenge I have with HDR images is to not "overcook" the scene. I want them to come off vibrant but not crazy saturated if that makes sense.

Hope this helps.
