I have a designated bag for my 500mm but now would like get a new bag to accommodate 100-400mm mark II, I prefer to have the camera body attached with the 500mm while inside the bag, main content would 1dx attached to the lens, 7dmark II and 100-400mm, need recommendations please. Thanks and happy new year.

A couple of ideas:

ThinkTank (Mindshift) Firstlight:

The larger F-stop mountain series packs, with at least an extra large ICU, should do this.

I was also going to suggest you look at the Bataflae packs from Tamrac (formerly Gura gear), but it seems they discontinued that line.

Fstop bags and Guru Gear bags are nice. I have and use both. B&H is now the retailer of Gura Gear. I prefer the Gura Gear for my 600mm.

Mine is old.

Lowepro Photo Trekker Pro AW

Hiked the Himalayas for 2 weeks. Medium
Format gear including 300mm 180mm 80mm 60mm and 40mm lenses. 60 rolls of film (shot 48). Rain (2 days). Cold. It stood up to the challenge just fine. Comfortable.

I lost weight but that bag gained weight. Seemed to weigh 300 pounds at the end...-?

Tripod was used for every shot.

Take a look at the Tenba bags. Have had mine for about 7ish years and would buy another if needed. One of the things I like most about the bag is that it doesn't look like a camera bag. You'd never guess it contained a small fortune.
