kd_reno Goldmember More info | Jan 27, 2019 09:49 | #2 Looks like a Sharpy to me based on the head pattern. The gray on the crown extends down the nape. Coops have a more distinct dark cap. They also appear more square headed and often appear to have a slight crest. This bird's head is very round. That's the easiest distinction for me with adults. Ken

Jan 27, 2019 19:42 | #3 Agree with Ken. Seems to be a Sharp-shinned hawk. The dark head pattern is much more prevalent in the Cooper's Hawk. Tail pattern is also indicative of a Sharp-shinned hawk.
