What about download speeds? I'm using the 1066x 128 Lexar Cf, and I download from this to LR. Is the card reader, or the card itself the deciding issue?

Both will factor in. I had been using a Transcend reader and thought it was fast relative to the read speeds of the 1066X Lexar. A buddy gifted me his old Lexar reader and his yields about 6-8 MB/s faster transfer speed.
