When people comment on my photo's I often use the phrase.......I was just in the "Right Place Right Time". So someone said to me about 3 years ago you always say that so I changed my Flickr display name to "Right Place Right Time" so it would be easy for people to be able to find me on Flickr.

After 3 years of use I have had an offer of £100 for this display name. I thought it was a joke but no it was a serious offer. So I said I would consider it thinking it would pay for 2 years of Flickr subscriptions. If I decide to sell and change my display name so the new owner can take it could I regret it? Can I sell it?.

What do you think?

The Flickr terms are at https://www.flickr.com/help/terms (external link). They are, as expected, quite extensive and some of the content could be inferred to mean you can't derive profit from selling your screen name. There is a web form at https://help.flickr.com/contact/contact-us-rkBc7roJQ (external link) where you can inout your specific question to Flickr staff and get the best answer.

I do see this with respect to screen names...

Names already in use, even by deleted accounts, can't be used.

Now, I don't have a Flickr account, but it begs the question what is in your profile that the potential buyer might obtain access to? Is the buyer after the screen name, which can't really be used, or are they after the account?

I see no reason not to sell if you are not too precious over the name, but if someone has offered you £100 bare in mind that that is their low-ball offer and you are in the driving seat for the coming negotiation!
