All these new R lens getting ready to hit the markets- Wow

Current R lens optics compared to EF lens- another Wow for the R optics

Where are the new EF lens for 2019 ??? What will be the future for DSLr's and EF lens ??

Oh Wait, there isnt any. No rumors or announcements pending

The new rumored consumer R body that is being circulated- Right in line with what Canon said it was going to do with the line ups

We are at the beginning of a new era for canon- This will be a very interesting year- Cant wait for these pro bodies to get announced-

Canon already stated that they were putting EF lenses on hold for 2019. Yes we know EF and EFS are slowly going to dwindle in production over the next few years. There is hardly a missing lens from their current line up as is, again confirmed by Canon, so what could they really create now? Without mirrorless releases, there still would hardly be any new lenses anyways, except for the continued MKII, MKIII, MIV versions of the same lenses.

The topic of this thread is yesterday's news. ;)

It looks like the only interest in mirrorless Canon getting is with FF.
Thier M series lenses are next to none.
R lenses are expensive.
So, if you are looking from real world, not forum typers and on-line reviewers, I can't see Rebels kits going away soon.
Again. It is based on what I see in people's hands and in the stores.

As of me, if RP is going to be priced as they talk, my 5D MKII would be for sale.
I woukd still prefer my EF lenses on RP.
I have tried R kit lens and it was ergonomical disaster.

Then stop twisting on about it, like anyone gives a crap. Does this self aggrandising posturing serve any purpose other than masturbating your ego? And while were on about it, yeah we get it, you're not confident enough to work without a crutch and need two card slots. You didn't mention it in you last post so I thought I would, just to settle you down a bit.
We all know where you stand on the minutiae of the R body, and honestly, just not interested anymore.
More to the point, if all things ef are dead, why are stating in another thread that you would buy a redundant ef500 if Canon offered it at a 30% discount??? Surely its still 70% crap as its not an R mount???

Don't worry folks. The current and even the past bodies and lenses won't stop working when new tech arrives, even with its extra knobs, dials and menus.

My advice is, unless you can't produce good images with the current tech, you don't need to abandon it in favour of the new. Actually, if that's the case, I suggest you don't bother. Just sell your gear and try stamp collecting.

As for the pixel peepers and tech nerds, please stop calling yourselves 'photographers'.

I jest of course ;-)a

SNIP ... And while were on about it, yeah we get it, you're not confident enough to work without a crutch and need two card slots. You didn't mention it in you last post so I thought I would, just to settle you down a bit ... SNIP

For people with ample gear to get the job done, and no pressing emergency, waiting for a 2 card body can make that comment sound void.

I bought the EOS R with one card to add to my two card 5DS. It was not a need, but a choice. But I view others waiting longer as simply taking another logical path.

Now going back to the topic and the opening post, it makes sense. It seems that the abundance of news and articles I'm finding lately are in regard to mirrorless bodies. Another way to express it may be that today's "curiosity" is becoming dominated by mirrorless.

.
Just because Canon doesn't seem to be making any new EF lenses or DSLR bodies doesn't mean that those products are "dead".

Why this odd concept that we need to have the latest, newest gear?? . That is really a strange way to think.

I keep reading posts from some members that seem to convey the idea that only the newest, currently made gear is relevant to our photographic pursuits. . Doesn't everybody realize that many thousands of very succcessful, popular, "hip" photographers create new, compelling images with older cameras that have been discontinued?

Photographers that are on the cutting edge of their profession don't necessarily use gear that is cutting edge. . Why does it seem that some members can't get this into their mindset?

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Oh crap! You mean that pre-R equipment won’t self destruct when someone presses the shutter release on an R camera. Glad I’m holding on to my “old” stuff. ߘ

You mean to say all the bad photos I take is my fault and not my equipment's fault? Oh, come on!! That can't really be true, can it? can IT?
