Hey all,

Very very new to photography been shooting for about 3 weeks

Finally starting to get to grips with moving away from the auto modes and setting my Canon 550 D up manually using an EF 80-200mm II lens. I probably will look to upgrade my kit at some point but long way to go. After taking thousands of photos out of my window trying to learn the skill, got a few nice photos out and about the other day. Definitely got the buzz for it!

Hope you enjoy Leila!

Thanks,

C

Its a good start. But the key to success is to make your subject stand out, usually by making it fill the frame. Work on getting closer and having more dog and less background. A

#1 to Gonzogolf...

Another tip for dog photography is to try and get the camera down to the dog's eye level as much as possible.

Of course, nailing focus on the animal's eyes is paramount for success.

I love my Sony mirrorless cameras which include animal Eye-AF. I have photographed several hundred dogs each year for our rescue group and had used Canon gear until this Spring when I switched to a Sony A6400...
