The M50 one isn't great at all. If you want to transfer shots with wifi and shoot a game, the battery won't make it through, you will have change out at least once. For a casual vacation shoot the family/kids/scenery, it will be fine.

Small capacity battery and single memory card is going to be an issue for many.

For a hardcore shooter I think they are anticipating a dual card pro version of the EOS R.

And a non issue for a legion of purchasers around the world.

We could list the names of single card cameras here from Canon and other brands over the past few years, but the names would fill lines.

Why "hard core" shooter are words uttered in relation to the EOS RP lends a question mark. I'm actually surprised Canon offered a full frame camera this affordable.

Fro knows RP.

No matter what direction Fro goes with his reviews, I still enjoy watching because he's also entertaining.

For strict "to the script" I like Dustin Abbott the best, and also like the background choices Abbott has to record with.

My M50 currently behaves like a FF now with the speed booster. My 24-70 f2.8 is a 27-77 f2 on the M50. It will shoot 10fps, has the touch flip screen, 24Mpx sensor, at 1/2 the cost and about the same battery life.

The RP affords me a gateway to the RF lenses, that is the advantage I see to this release for me personally, not much of anything else. However if I was trying to decide between the RP and R, it would be the RP hands down. I expect to see EOS R sales tank, but I guess we shall see.

Adapter = disaster once you mix in native lenses

RP + 35 f1.8 + 24-240 = more compelling than anything the M system offers. yeah, but that battery life.

Not sure what you mean about the adapter.

I already stated that the RP advantage is the ability to use RF lenses, but I am not buying any lenses for a while. If I do, it will be some nice white L EF lenses at greatly reduced prices.

I didn't say it was great, but assumed most users won't be transferring files on the fly and shooting sporting events professionally.

Will this also be the most hated camera on the internet by spec sheet nerds, video guys and non users? Hmmmm willing to bet on it..:-

You mean the same people that totally ignore price points and will compare it to an A9 and 1Dx2? ;)

Oddly, for many people the 6D2 will offer more and is cheaper, ...

MSRP and going rate at reputable vendors shows it's not cheaper,. $1,500.00 vs. $1,300.00 for the RP?

That's the great thing about EF lenses, they'll work on almost any body most of us would consider in the near future - Canon DSLR, EOS R/RP, Sony.

I’m considering replacing my 5D Mark IV with this camera. The small light size is really attractive for hiking and landscape.

it's fiddly.

imagine shooting with the 11-22, 24-70 EF and 135 EF. Pretty normal to have said combo, you're shooting the 135, go inside with the 11-22, decide to swap to 24-70, you've got to swap out adapters (135 -> 24-70), then swap lenses..... ugh fiddly. Sure, EF lenses are low cost offerings, however price isnt everything.

I've played these adapter games, still playing them now. Only way to make it comforting is to have multiple adapters, one for each lens. With that, you get into size creep, an additional 250g for two adapters, additional length, and costs...

Have wee seen anywhere yet where Canon claims the EOS RP features an "entirely new FF Sensor with Improvements" etc. so we can be absolutely sure this the same Sensor as found in the 6D2? :)

Im more excited about the glass

Does this make the EOS R the mid level body now ??

Both these bodies have no dual cards

according to the video the FRO just released....All future R mount bodies will have IBIS

So- a pro bod with dual cards and IBIS.....thats Probably gonna come in at $3800-4000.00 the way that are setting things up for the line up

This is all getting really interesting
