after my accident with my Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS USM, i'm looking for a bracket that supports the camera to the lens. i've seen a couple of them but they specify its for the newer version of the 500mm. will it still fit? here's what i'm looking at. its from iShoot.

Is there a reason that it is not sufficient for you, to mount the lens to the head on the tripod...but merely leave the camera body hanging from the lens (without supplemental support to the tripod) also?

What was the accident?

Maybe a gimbal head would be a better option?
