Evening all,

I'm trying to work out a few things and struggling.

I want to process images on Lightroom 6, add keywords to the images, and then save them to a 'pictures' folder on my Mac.

What i'm then hoping to be able to do, is to be able to search for those keywords in Bridge, to view them, but it's not working and nothing is found.

Can anyone please advise a process for doing this or tell me what i'm doing wrong?

Thanks all

Thanks for that Damo - just tried it and imported a few files into Bridge and searched but doesn't seem to work unless you select the specific folder that the images with that keyword are in.

If I select my 'Pictures' folder with all of my images, then search for those keywords, nothing comes up.

The only way I seem able to do this is the give images keywords in Bridge which is a bit of a bummer if my Lightroom workflow should give me the ideal opportunity to tag images

Thanks for the post though

Wow - it sounds like it really sucks that Adobe forces you to have such an inconvenient workflow. . Are they really that far behind the times, that their software can't function adaptively to whatever way the user prefers to use it?

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Thanks for the reply Tom.

Apologies but I'm not sure if your reply is a sympathetic statement or a tongue in cheek response to what I'm looking for.

I would like to think that there is a workflow for tagging keywords in Lightroom that pulls through to Bridge that maybe someone can point me towards though

Definitely a sympathetic statement.

I really hate it when companies with so-called "leading" software don't have it set up to allow us to use the software any way we want.

Adobe should be giving us absolute freedom and adaptability, not limitations.

What operating system? I'm on Mac OS Mojave with Lightroom CC2019. All the keyworded jpeg files I've created in LR and Capture One are searchable in Bridge as well as the Find function of the operating system.

In Bridge, you just use the find function under edit and specify the search criteria. You can have several to narrow your search. Same works in the finder of the Mac.

If you have "include non-indexed files" checked, the search may take a while. You can also choose to search all subfolders.

You can also choose to search all subfolders.

Yep, sounds like this is the issue.

The Lightroom version of this would be ticking "show photos in subfolders" which then allows for searching/filtering across all photos.

No they aren't, it's user error.

It seems that could well be the case Dan - if so, at least i've learnt a few things through this thread :)

Cheers everyone, for their input.

I'll have a look tonight when I get in from work, and report back

Thank again
