Results:

OldCrow – I like this Don and it might be my monitor, but the butterfly seems little soft. The parts of the plant that are closer seem to be more in focus and my eye keeps wandering to them.

dilorenzo1954 – simple and clean, I like the symmetry.

just whistle – this is a cool shot, it looks like the horizontal strut from the bike has a curved shadow, I like the contrast.

Owain Shaw – I was on the fence about this one Owain, on one hand I think that composition is really good and interesting, on the other the white paint on the boat feels a little over-processed (again it might be my monitor).

Alveric – this shot has a lot of potential but I think I might have cropped it in closer, maybe losing the shadow in the bottom and the tree on the left. It took me a little while to find the people standing on the sidewalk.

M_Six – great lunar shot Mark, everything in focus and good contrast.

As counter-intuitive as it seems I’m going to go with the shot that left me wondering a bit.

#1 – Owain Shaw
#2 – dilorenzo1954
#3 – just whistle

Take it away Owain.

Thanks, darkslinger, for a fun challenge! Congrats to Owain Shaw, great shot! I liked all of the shots and would have had a hard time coming to a decision.

Sorry everyone, I wasn't prepared.

Some really nice Black and White photographs entered this week, well done everyone.

I couldn't vouch for the accuracy of my monitor with any degree of certainty, and this was processed on my old laptop as well. There wasn't any specific processing done to the boat (maybe there should have been to make the paint less garish) in the picture, but my processing has slowly been getting less heavy-handed ... slowly ... so it might not be the best. Anyway, lucky to have been chosen so thank you! Apologies for the delay, I wasn't expecting it but I have also been a bit distracted this week.
