Poor baby croc, but that is nature.

The interesting thing is that as Crocodiles and Caimans get larger, they start to prey on the Tiger-Herons. Karma and all that...

Thank you for commenting.

Yeah it's hard to feel too bad for the croc. Our tour group was horrified, but that is nature.

Wow. The great blues in Florida eat alligator hatchlings. I have seen the tiger herons and crocs in CR too. On the Tarcoles River.

It was a cool thing to witness.

The funny part of it, is that the guide on the boat, literally just finished talking about the tiger heron being a natural enemy of the croc. He was talking about another heron just up the bank, then we see this guy. We start to get near the shore, when I spot the croc. I say to the guide "is that a baby croc there?", and the guide tells the boat over the PA. Just as everyone is looking through their binoculars, whammy. ... There was a lot of gasping and exclaims of shock and disgust.

It would have been much better if the lighting was a bit more favorable, but how often can you witness a thing like this? I'm at least glad I had my ISO where it was, an ISO setting or 2 less and it would have been nothing but a grey streak.

Thanks for the comment edmidlifecrisis
