Someone mentioned in another thread that B&H stopped taking preorders. I'm not sure if they were confusing a pre-order with the "email me when it's in stock" button.

Someone mind clearing this up?

April 6th is too far!!!

The "email me when it's in stock" button is still there, and it doesn't make sense for them to limit the number of people on their mailing list, so I'd just assume they stopped taking preorders. Which is fine for me, since I'll be moving that week, and won't have an address to ship to until the next week anyway....and for money management purposes I'd prefer to order after the 15th anyway....or in other words, I won't be looking to actually make the purchase until they've been out for a couple weeks anyway, so I don't mind if I'm not on the list.

What is the holdup. April 6 is fully 30 days since we got ours. Of course, those in the US will be getting theirs cheaper...

I must admit the wait for whatever reason has caused me to loose some of the excitement of getting a new camera ... but still anticipating the arrival.

Yeah right. Homeland security doesn't check any packages; we're not even willing to test more than .1% of our cattle for anthrax here in the US:lol: Yep, it sure is a good time to be a vegetarian:)

B&H said they are expected to arrive on Monday. They were taking preorders today at Photoshop World.

Hmmm. I've ordered from my local camera shop given that the Canon set pricing made it easy (same price more or less everywhere - $1399 for the body / $1499 for the kit). Last week they said they expected some the first week of April. It would be great if they arrived a bit ahead of that. I appreciate the heads up re: B&H's expected date - it may prompt a call to check in with the camera shop on Monday.

In 1934, Yoshida succeeded in producing a prototype of the first domestically made 35mm focal-plane shutter camera. A believer of the Buddhist faith, he named it "Kwanon" after the Goddess of Mercy, and placed an advertisement for "Kwanon Cameras" in the June 1934 issue of Asahi Camera magazine. - Canon Global History Page - Current Equipment FS items https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1228198
