Oct 21rst, 2021,

New region at limb spitting out surge proms, really interesting "crown" there. Big region AR2886 and its surrounding filaments. Full disc for reference.

Always interesting to see Florida and Arizona people hiding in tents or wrapping their scopes to keep them cool. Most of the year up here we want the stuff warmer!

We are already 66 degrees INSIDE the house and will be for the next 6 months and that is only by spending over $4,000 on heating oil. I am now keeping my Quark and the BF for my LS80 inside the house and bringing them out when I image. At the same time I will be dressing like an Eskimo with snow pants long underwear and a parka as the temp falls and stays below freezing each day. Today is supposed to be nice as it is supposed to hit 60 degrees for a high!

Oct 25th, 2021

The disc woke up again, AR2886 is quiet but its new friends AR2887 and those coming around the limb are blasting away. Something blew up big time on the eastern limb around 16:00~17:00 eastern time, there was an obvious big flare and CME with lots of material thrown off.

Trifecta of HA, CaK & WL. High Res and Discs.

After the CME yesterday, there was some great looping that I missed. But there's still some blasting this morning from the site and some nice loops in there still, but feint. I was able to get some passable data with the 150mm this morning around 11am in fair seeing (1 to 1.1 arc-seconds averaged, was not great at this time). AR2887 is still fantastic looking of course. Some new AR's are popped up but nothing big. Whatever blew its top yesterday is still sending out material all over, it's very active, it'll be another 48 hours before we see real well what is all in that area where things are separating, conflicting and reconnecting and blowing up. Watch it be a tiny spot doing all that lol. I hope for a great spot!
