Have any RP owners tried the Multi Shot Noise Reduction?

Can someone tell me whether the RP has exposure compensation in manual mode with auto iso, please?

Yes. It’s descibed on page 103 of the manual. But with RF lenses or you can set the control ring for ISO. Same for EF lenses if you have the adapter with a control ring.

I often see this question...Why do you need exposure comp if you are shooting manual with (or even without) auto iso. Exposure comp is changing one of your values so just change the one that is least important to the shot you want.

I shoot sport at 1/1250 to freeze action, with f5.6 get a reasonable depth of field. Light outdoors varies continuously and to maintain these the only variable left iso which I leave to the camera to set. If a team is in white or black, then it would be nice to be able to dial in a little exposure comp to counteract this. It's more of a metering issue than anything else but if I use spot all the time it can vary horrifically if I focus on a white or a black stripe on a jersey

I do this exact thing to shoot my son's soccer games with the 80D ... except I usually go for 1/1500

Interesting: The R is supposedly from Re-Imagined and the P is supposedly from a Canon film camera, the Canon P. This is from https://snapshot.canon-asia.com …-mirrorless-journey-today (external link):

Where are plenty of people who are still using them. I have even earlier Canon made rangefinder camera, from fifties.

I'm not sure if RP is available where I'm locally. I wonder if it has main P advantage over SLRs. Which is location of viewfinder allowing not to smash your noise against camera back.

Looks like it is halfway, no half noise close to P. :)

I think most sports photographers work this way. The action is far too fast to be doing manual adjustments. I like to use 1/1600 SS if possible but it's usually 1/1250 at this time of year!

I've been as low as 1/500 before I got my 1d mk4 and it wasn't pleasant. We had a break in the weather a couple of months ago, and I was giddy at using 1/1600 and f7.1 at 360 iso!! Halcyon days indeed.

Still haven't had a good opportunity to put the camera through its paces. But here's a little "street" shot.

Amy one notice that the what you see in the viewfinder looks on the cool side and what you see on the LCD screen looks warm?

I'm very ambivalent about this camera at the moment.

Camera blacks out when shooting bursts, which is very frustrating. I also had difficulty seeing through the EVF in bright sunlight. I did know that in advance; I think that somehow it just "didn't compute." It isn't significantly smaller and lighter with big heavy lenses attached (duh), which I also knew in advance, so I shouldn't complain!

On the other hand, it will use EF-S lenses (and I don't have another camera that will, because I no longer have my SL2). Also, I haven't yet tried the exposure bracketing, which was one thing that appealed to me about this camera. Maybe I will just love, love, love exposure bracketing! :) I also like the focus peaking, as well as the fact that lenses don't need micro adjustment. It will take RF lenses, so there is that option in the future. It is small even though it is full frame and, paired with the EF-S 24mm pancake lens, stays relatively small even with the adapter. Hmmm.

I am going to work with it for a while to see if I want to keep it. Don't get me wrong; it is a very nice camera--I'm just wondering if the pros outweigh the cons at this point. It may be that a 7DII would be a better SL2 replacement for my current needs. Like I said, right now i'm ambivalent!

This was taken with the RP, but the RP isn't recognized by the forum software at the moment (nor is it available in the drop-down list) so it doesn't show up as the camera that took the photo. The other info is accurate, though.
