I'm not sure if it is really a macro as this horror is about hand-sized. It is one of the camel spiders, arachnids of the order Solifugae. We met this one close to the Kruger Park. I really don't think that even his/her mother could love this one!

Thanks Brian and Lester. To both of you ... I am not certain that lovely is the word to describe it. Very few animals give me the creeps, but this one did. And it can move like greased lightning.
