Also I think the round surface of the egg prevents a lot of splash compared to a flat surface.

I don't think that would make a lot of difference. Nor does the speed of the water coming down. I've done it with a light bulb once and got some nice splashes. Flash works best for this type of shot, I think.

I think for a good splash you would need much faster shutter speeds to freeze the action. Or flash. Still, pretty cool!

Thanks. Next time a slower shutter speed so the water veils over the egg.

LOL. Yeah, that would work too, Don!

Thanks Oh. If I give my eggs showers does than mean I'm unbalanced?:-P

Probably. We just give ours a brisk rubdown, followed by a dash of cologne.

With all of the rain we have had, we are beginning to experience a "Super Bloom" here in the desert.
The last Super Bloom was in 2005.

Here is a wildflower that I have never photographed before:

These tiny flowers are abundant right now. They are about 1/4" long

I've got something else to post, but I won't have time until later tonight or tomorrow...
I have the photo, but I'm having a PS learning curve

I have never shot these; my own wedding rings.

There is an event called DesertX (external link) that is happening in the Coachella Valley until April 2019. Here is the installation called Ghost Palm (external link).
Sadly it has taken a beating with all of the unusual weather we have had... .. .

I don't think that would make a lot of difference.

Maybe not much of a difference for the photo, but just from a physics perspective this does make a huge difference. Imagine the splash a needle or ball would create vs a flat surface.

Constructive criticism and editing always welcome.
