Tierra Del Sol (TDS Jeep Safari) 2019

Anyone going to TDS this year? I'll be headed out right after work Friday.

Alot of people are haha, I wish i was able to make KOH! What happened to the jeep?

Seems I may need a new front axle housing; bent the upper control arm mount on passenger side, ripped off the trac bar mount on the axle almost clear off and I think the passenger LCA mount is what was causing some erratic death wobble.

That sounds terrible!! What axle and what jeep is it?

It's a dana44 in my 2009 JK Unlimited Rubicon. It's a fun little rig that sits on 35s with a 2.5 Synergy lift, lockers f/r, on-board air and with the half doors.

The axle is sleeved and gusseted and actually just heard back from the shop and the housing is straight so i might only need to have most of the old brackets cut off and re-welded on.

On the plus side, I just received my media credentials for the upcoming Ultra4 Metalcloak race here in Rancho Cordova so I can wonder around most anywhere and get some good photos.

I hear you on the brackets, Jeep for some reason does not like to use very heavy duty materiel when it comes to all their bracketing. It becomes dicey when there is relatively heavy offload use involved. Glad they will be able to salvage the axle though!

yeah, most of their bracketry is really weak, plus my wheeling isn't really gentle either
