I was out on Cape Canaveral for the SpaceX Falcon 9 launch of their Crew Dragon - Demo 1 mission last night. Caught a large thunderstorm parked about 50 miles offshore. Then after the launch, got a milky way shot over the top of Launch Pad #3 at the cape. This is the site of the very first rocket launch from Cape Canaveral, back on 25 July 1950. Bumper 8 was the rocket. Basically a German V2 with a second stage stuck on the top. I suspect the Milky Way looked about the same back in the day . . .
