over riding flash sync speed

Is there anyway to over ride the sync speed max of 250, when using on camera strobe or the pop up flash? I am using a canon rebel t6i.

If your flash is capable, you can switch to High Speed Sync mode. It lets you use higher shutter speeds but you give up flash power.

What camera and external flash are you using?

Your camera can use HSS flash sync mode when shutter speed is faster than usual X-sync speed. You need to use Menu to set the camera to enable use of HSS.
Your flash also needs to have HSS enabled in its own menu, in order for the camera to put it into HSS mode.
If both camera and flash have HSS enabled, you should be able to select a shutter speed faster than X sync speed.

Just get strobes which can do HSS. No need to miss Hasselblads and now you can shoot upto 1/8000 unlike leaf shutters which max at at 1/2000 or typically at lower ss.
