I am very tempted today as they are the first to have a camera I'd like within my budget. If you have, positive or negative experience? Gear as expected? Accessories as expected? Decent shipping time?

I'd appreciate your recommendations....

Extensive thread about this over at FredMiranda

In any case, I have purchased from them. They call you within the next two days to offer the USA version of the camera/lens with an additional charge. Product received in 7 days time from purchase to door.

Worth it IMO. No issues at all.

There was a prior thread about them and 5D IVs sold on eBay. Obviously gray market price and buyers reported they called and tried to upsell them with a US warranty. They declined and apparently got what they ordered.

Can’t find actual link, but seller is mentioned within this thread:

Thanks SO many mixed reviews. More positive than negative, but enough to pause for a moment and think it through. EOS R is 1779 today. So tempting.

I purchased a 5D IV from them via eBay during the past Black Friday for $1,899. I was quite apprehensive about purchasing a camera through eBay and from a merchant that I had never heard of. After ordering it, I received a phone call a day or two later about upgrading the purchase to a U.S. edition for something like $200 more. He didn't give me any further pressure when I declined. The camera came just fine about a week and half later, and I was able to register it on Canon site, as well. No issues whatsoever so far. Extremely happy that I was able to get the camera at that price.

I just bought a 5DMIV from them a few weeks ago, no problems but they did delay shipping until they'd tried to offer me a USA model which I declined.

I just ordered an EOS R from them, $1509 was too good for me to pass up. I’ll report back after I receive it.

Be careful what you buy and make sure you get what you paid for. I was thinking about buying a new EOS R from them on Thursday via their eBay ad. In the ad it clearly states that if it isn't a US model that it would be reflected in the description in a certain place. (they also stated in the ad that they sell both US and import versions) I called to inquire if I could order directly over the phone and was told I was mistaken that the US version would never be as cheap as the ad claimed and that it was gray market. No matter what I pointed out in the ad I was told I didn't know what I was talking about. Within 12 hours of that phone call they raised the price in the eBay site by nearly $100.

I thought it was common knowledge it would not be a US model. So they went from the cheapest price on the market to....still the cheapest price on the market. Sellers change their prices all the time.

Under Warranty it says import model and 1-yr warranty provided by seller. While it isn’t in the tab they say it would be, it is still listed on the ad.

Check out this eBay ad from them and tell me where it shows that it is an import model. https://www.ebay.com …ksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 (external link)
I went over that thing a bunch of times and could never find it, which led me to believe that it was NOT an import model, and in fact the listing even claims they sell both import and US models.

FWIW I put in an offer on Greentoe for $1700 and was immediately given a counter offer for $1750 which I accepted as it is shipped to me, tax included and it is a US model with full mfg warranty. I am going to contact the seller this morning to see if they are willing to include the EF-RF adapter as Canon is doing an instant rebate on that currently.

Although it isn't explicit in the wording, there are some indicators that it is not the USA product with the Canon warranty.

1. "What's in the box" fails to mention any warranty, US or otherwise.

2. In the section "About Product" it clearly states

Please Note unless specified differently, all our products or most products we sell are Brand New, however, we are not an authorized Canon/Nikon/Panasonic or Sony dealer nor claim to be.

3. Note this text

1 Year parts, 30 day Labor U.S Store warranty is provided by us the sellers and extended coverage can be provided also if interested. Import items may not be eligible for a manufacturer warranty in the USA.

Canon products imported by Canon USA state that a Canon 1-year warranty is provided.

Granted all these things you may not be aware of until a problem arises and the vendor then says "we didn't state that". But one has to be careful of you can have an issue, and you are dealing with eBay.
