Back to basics. Show me a still life type of shot. Flowers, fruit, hobby stuff, whatever. Composition will be key here.

The challenge begins when posted, and will end on Monday, March 18, 2019 at midnight Central Time. The winner will be announced shortly thereafter. (Or more likely, the next morning.)

CHALLENGE RULES:
1. Camera: Any DIGITAL CAMERA is allowed, (not just DSLR)
2. Time: Any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
3. Size: See standard P.O.T.N. Image Posting Rules.
4. Post Processing: Do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting: ONE PHOTO per photographer in each challenge.
6. Details: Show camera model & lens used. Post brief EXIF data including ISO, shutter speed and aperture used.
7. Commenting: Please, NO COMMENTING DURING CHALLENGE feel free to comment in this thread after a winner is declared.
8. Content: Keep it clean, and both Family and Work safe.
9. Have questions? PM me.
10. Have FUN!

* THE WINNER ALWAYS SETS THE THEME FOR THE NEXT CHALLENGE, POSTS IT AND JUDGES IT - BE PREPARED! A new challenge should be posted ASAP after you have been declared the winner.

Not sure if this qualifies as a still life, but the drink was good... :p

Lesley - Stellar image. Love the colors and the background. Nicely done.

Ed - Another superb image. The colored “shadows” on the wall really make this image.

Benitoite - The only old school fruit still life. Interesting composition. I’m struggling a bit with the tone, though. I wonder if sepia may have worked better?

Renata - I love everything about this image. Top notch shot. Well done.

darkslinger - This works. Hard to tell from the B&W what the drink is, though. Margarita?

For a few days I was torn between Lesley’s and Ed’s images, then Renata posted and wowed me.

That said, it’s still a tough decision. I love all three images.

I’m going to give it to Renata and give Lesley and Ed shared 2nd place honors.

Thanks for the participation, folks. All yours, Renata.

Very artistic, Renata! I remembered that shot from a few months ago and glad you pulled it out for this competition.

Mine was just an “also ran”—just messing with my phone as no camera is handy ATM.
