I'm looking at purchasing the 17-40 to compliment my other Canon lenses that I have in my bag. The price is just right on a used copy of this lens, but I want to see what experiences people had with the lens on a Sony body.

I'm more or less interested in IQ as I manually focus all of my lenses. Is CA and distortion manageable especially at the wide end? I was a big fan of this lens on my Canon bodies, but I haven't tried an adapted WA lens on my A7II.

Thanks in advance!

Works just fine. Corner sharpness with wide angle adapted glass is always going to suffer but it works well and for the price...tough to beat, especially if manually focusing anway. Ultimately, I did end up buying the Sony 16-35 but I wanted native AF primarily for video.

Becoming a gear junkie.
