I am just curious if I could possibly print on a 140lb piece of watercolor paper with a Canon Pro-100.

Thanks!

I'm not certain about English paper weights because different nominal weights are used for different purposes. That is, 140 pounds can mean different things. If you can find the weight in metric (gsm, grams per square meter), the answer would be clearer. SOME papers labeled as 140 pounds are 255 gsm. When I had a Pro-100, I routinely printed with heavier papers, usually 300 gsm, using manual feed.

However, the paper itself might mess you up because it might not have the right characteristics in terms of spreading of the ink. When I want a watercolor look, I use a good matte photo paper. In fact, I just bought some more for this purpose a few minutes ago. You can buy sampler packs from a variety of different vendors that supply ICC profiles for that printer. I have bought samplers from Moab, Red River, Hahnmuhle, and Canson. If you buy any one of these, you will have a variety of matte papers to choose from. I prefer relatively bright and smooth matte papers for the watercolor look, but your taste may be different.

Yup, the American way of measuring paper weights is backward AF.

If you can find the grams per square meter measurement you will have a much better chance of getting an accurate answer.

Edit: and also yup on the type of paper, if it is not made to go through an inkjet printer, you will probably not be happy with the results.

Not your specific printer, but I do regularly print to a cheap 300gsm water colour paper with my Pixma MG5150. The results are really good. Non experts have thought my images to be watercolour. I use Canon PT2 and quality level 1 on the printer end from Lr.
