Rio sunset with 'poles'

After careful consideration this picture just doesnt work for me but I can't put my finger on it...?

The poles do not add anything to the picture and could be easily avoided. The real picture is in the lower right corner.

Had you been able to come down the beach to a point where the poles were no longer in frame you could have picked up most of the skyline and the bird .

It was an excellent try, nonetheless. The exposure and color balance are fine.

For me the poles don't break the image, but it would certainly be different, perhaps better, without, as Mr. Lay suggests. However, as I look at it. the horizon is tilted approx 1 degree to the right.

I'm no expert, but I think this looks really good. if i had to make some sort of critical statement...perhaps if you would've taken the picture further back up the beach, included the poles and some of the scenery to the right of the bird...so that the sun wouldve been in the centre. just my opinion. the scenery really is magnificent.

We were correcting tilted horizons last month.
This month we are working on poles :lol:
