Hello John:

Thanks for your interest.

I only used it a very short time - with the Sigma (EF mount) 100-400 Contemporary lens.

I did not have any issues or problems - using AF - to me it locked on the subjects, quickly,
and accurately.

I did not take any photos of "people" - regarding the "eye AF" - was mostly used for distant outdoor subjects / objects.
