Flex is Luminar 3 minus the Library/DAM. Use it as a plugin for Lr, Ps, and others.

Thanks for the info. As a luminar 3 owner, I'll look into it. I did not get an email.

I stopped using the app when they added the DAM. It caused nothing but problems for me.

I can only assume others complaining about the same thing is what generated a DAMless luminar release.

I wonder if it's free to registered users. Will find out.

Thanks for the heads-up.

It is free if you own a Luminar 2018 or Luminar 3 license. Copy your Luminar license number from your "My Software" portion of you Skylum. Install Flex and paste in the license number to activate Flex. If you don't activate it, it will be running as a trial copy.

The DAM I want to see is the one that will be an option to Photo Mechanic 6 (which was just released). The PM6 DAM will go into beta at the end of this month. So by middle to end of May we should know if PM plus Luminar Flex and Topaz Studio will be a good combination.

I don't think so. I have no issues whatever with Luminar 3. However, unless your computer has an awful lot of grunt, I suspect it can be slow, especially to load, if you've pointed it at a huge amount of images. I find Luminar much more useful as a plugin in Photoshop, without the DAM, which isn't accessible when used as a plugin.

In fact, these days I use Skylum as a front end for Photoshop, starting with Aurora HDR 2019, then into PS through ACR, in which the only adjustments are minor.

Je n'avais pas besoin de cette hypothèse-là.

I had a look at the Skylum / Flex page and did not see anything about a free upgrade to Luminar 3 owners, but perhaps I overlooked it. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info. I was using Luminar 3 as a standalone. I do not want nor need the dam so I'll give it a go as a plugin. Thanks.
