A couple American kestrels were hanging out by the softball fields during my daughters' practice. I didn't realize that the one on the right has a lizard in its beak until I was doing some pp work on them.

Gotta love the chick!

That looks like a fish you'd see in a saltwater tank - at least down here. Lol!

Something I took quite some time ago in Wetheim National Wildlife Refuge on Long Island. Worth the twenty or so deer ticks I picked up and the subsequent anti-biotics :P.

Back in 2005 or so, when I had my first 200mm f/1.8, I happened upon "Big Blue, who was the local confirmed bachelor GBH residing in our local park. I had basically learned "bird photography" with Big Blue as my main subject in the previous years, so by this time he was quite used to my presence. Not tame, but pretty much oblivious to my comings and goings. I'd get a look akin to "Oh, it's only you"

..and then he'd go back to what he was doing.

IMAGE LINK: https://jakehegnauer.zenfolio.com/p62647257/e554b87cc  (external link)

On this occasion he was having a very good day catching sunfish and rock bass on a point out in the middle of the pond,.

IMAGE LINK: https://jakehegnauer.zenfolio.com/p62647257/e554b87ca  (external link)

...and he eventually came right up to the bush I was crouched under to deal with a sunfish he'd picked up backwards...

when he did the "flip" to get it head first, he lost the handle and dropped it right there on the shore, just feet from me;

As the little fish kept flipping around, it was getting further inland, and big blue was coming closer,. me with 200mm fixed lens, eventually I lost the ability to frame the subject, and was left with these ultra close ups as Big Blue kept stabbing at the frantic little fish;

Great sequence, Jake. That's a bigger than typical meal. Looks like the fin is fragile. :)
