B+H policy

I bought a piece of equipment on March 31st as a gift to my wife for her birthday which was last week. The item has a defect but b+h has been and will be on vacation until the 28th of this month. No way to contact them. When they go on extended vacation, does that affect my 30 day return/exchange?

First of all, they are not on vacation. They are observing the Jewish holiday of Passover. Since they were closed when your return expired I am sure they will honor it. If not, contact Henry Posner. He is the go to guy when you have a problem there.

I am going to speculate, based on my past dealings, that if you send an email documenting your issue that B&H will work thing out favorably.
Generally speaking they have been very professional in the instances where I have had issues--which I believe there have been two..

It’s not expired. It will just be about 30 days when they come back next Sunday. A day short.

I don't see why you can't contact them now, and just know that their reply will be delayed due to the holiday observance. As long as you contact them within the 30 days and have a legitimate issue, I can't imagine them screwing you over.

You won't have a problem.
