Workshops?

It would ALL depend on both you and the particular workshop.

I have attended many workshops and sent staffers to many more.

For me, most of the workshops were mostly very inefficient in terms of learning. Some were enjoyable and I meet some good people.

For staffers I treated most workshops as more reward and opportunity to meet colleagues than efficient learning experiences. The exceptions were on new technology just under development and staffers with the background and skills to not only learn but participate to perhaps skew things our our way.

You might want to consider the radical step of hiring your own workshop leader. If there is a photographer in your area whose work you like you could contact him or her about the potential for some hands-on instruction.
