Not seen it before. Think it's Xysticus audax rather than Xysticus cristatus I normally see. Turns out A new crab spider in the garden. Not seen this one before- I think it is a male Xysticus audax. May 10, 2019 09:59 | #4 Great shots. As to the predatory nature of Crab Spiders, their venom must be like an instant electric shock to the prey. There is no way a little spider could hold a struggling Bumblebee if the venom was slow acting. I watched an adult female P. Audax wander into a Black Widow web. When the Widow bit her, her legs all went straight instantly. I've got a photo of it, but sadly it's not clear enough to share in a forum like this. TerryMc
