Wedding may exemplify "As for man, his days are as grass" and to live in the moment.

Last April, I was invited to a wedding in northern California. There was no expectation for photos, but just to attend as a guest. Knowing they couldn't really afford a photographer, I brought a little gear and took a few photos for them. The venue was just a plain meeting room at a fairground, with a garage door.

This wedding was April 6, 2019. The bride passed away due to a health problem around May 5th, barely one month later. The past several years I've more wondered if couples I photographed would remain married for the long term. I've been thinking years and decades and lifetimes. It's worth adding this couple had spent time together and hiked for over 20 years.

It may be worth adding, the first dance for the couple was "Could I have this dance"

Really a nice shot of the couple. Glad you were there to take some pictures for them. I sure the husband will always treasure the pictures.

As for wedding couples staying together? I only know of one couple that are still together from the first ten years I did weddings and that couple are not getting along well either. This is not something I tell my clients as it could make getting business a bit harder.

Thank you for helping that couple out and honoring their relationship! Love the picture and the song. I have her Best of CD and always enjoyed her music. Maybe I'll play her tomorrow while at work. In spite of what many experience, marriage is still going on. We celebrated our 29th last month, we know many who have also. Wedding photographers need jobs! :)
