I bought this lens from local market for cheap to replace 55-250mm STM lens. When I hold lens down facing either floor or ceiling, lens is zooming in / out. There is no auto zoom while facing subjects in normal angles. is it normal for this lens. Just making sure that it is not a issue with barrel or lens.

All my zoom lenses extend when pointing down. Not sure about pointing straight up. Not sure what you mean by auto zoom.

Get a rubber band, like the ones they use to hold asparagus together, the wide ones and place it over one of the seams of the zoom ring. No more creep. Or if you want to get fancy, get a Lens Band.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Thanks for the information. It looked fine during my limited normal usage. It doesn't move while taking pics. It only moves when it is pointing downwards.

Thanks for the information. It zooms in while pointing upwards.
