Canon EF 400mm f5.6 .......... a.k.a. 400 5.6 L series USM

I am offering for sale my Canon EF 400mm f5.6 L series USM lens.

It is in really good condition because I hardly used the lens. . Shortly after I bought it, the 100-400mm version 2 came out and I bought one, and after I got that lens I didn't have a use for my 400 5.6 any more. . There is a small chip in the paint on the hood, which is visible in one of the pictures that I took.

It comes with the original Canon zipper case, the original instruction/users manual, the built-in retractable lens hood, the original tripod collar, the original rear cap, and the original Canon box. . It also comes with a Sensei aluminum thread-on lens cap instead of the Canon plastic clip-on cap.

If you need photos of the lens, just let me know via PM - include your cell phone number in the PM - and then I will take pics of it with my phone and text you the pics.

$600 U.S. dollars, which includes PayPal fees and shipping.
I am not interested in trades or in offers lower than $600.

Payment will be only via PayPal or local cash transaction. . I reserve the right to be picky about who I sell to because there have been some PayPal scams and I want to be careful to avoid that.

Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail, and will only be to U.S. destinations in the contiguous 48 states. . If you live outside of the lower 48 states and want me to ship the lens to you, I am willing to do so, but there will need to be extra money added to compensate me for additional shipping costs and time filling out the customs form.

Update:

I took photos of the lens with my cell phone today, so if you want to see pics I can get them to you via text rather quickly.

Also, when I took the lens outside I could see a date code. . I hadn't been able to see it when I looked for t earlier, probably because the lens was indoors at that time, where it is much darker.

The date code is either UXO717 or UXC717 .... I simply can't tell if that third letter is an "o" or "c" (not that it matters).

I'm giving this a bump.

At $600, I think it is a very good value ..... especially considering that it is currently going for $1149 at B&H, and that is with $100 instant savings applied.

So, my price is just half of the regular going rate for a new one. . Hopefully someone sees the value here, as I would like to sell this sooner rather than later.
