Interesting tripod by Peak Design, currently a kickstarter offering. Author of the article at https://www.imaging-resource.com …st-innovative-tripod-ever (external link) finds some shortcomings, for the most part minor, but moving forward improvements hopefully will be made.

I really like it's compact size but I can't get past the kickstarter price let alone the retail price

if it was $100 for aluminum and $175 for CF id be in. They can keep it for that kind of price.
I just don't understand some price tags I see tripods at. 99% of them are just metal or CF tubes with locks. How can any of them fetch hundreds of dollars in prices? Tripods in general are pretty basic designs.
This I think is just playing off the hey others will pay for these lets price this really high.
