I updated my Adobe LR Classic to 8.3 and now when I open it about 50 % of the time it makes me manually load my catalog. It also does not hold my preferences on my tool bars. when it starts it acts like I am a new user showing me the tip screens....UGHHHH...

any ideas?

Nikon D850 and a bunch of stuff, I have learned a lot here when I was shooting Canon, staying to keep learning..."Every time I set up I learn something new".

I'm assuming you checked in the preferences - general to see which catalogue is selected to start with. Odd that these two things are happening. Two things I have read about that often solve these odd issues. Resetting preferences or reinstalling LR. Maybe start there.

Might be a corrupted preference file. Maybe try deleting it (LR will automatically create a new one) - nothing to lose given that the current one isn't working.
