I'm looking at some Avenger C Stands and roller bases and they have Prop 65 warnings on them stating they could cause cancer. I know it is required in California to put these labels on items if there is anything in them that could be cancer causing, regardless of how big the amount is, though I'm wondering if there is something of real concern with how these things are made? Anyone know?

Thanks.

If you grind up your c stand and smoke it, it isn't good for you.

;)

California forces coffee shops to label coffee.

Lawyers have destroyed what was, at least at heart, a decent idea.

Coffee? I haven't seen that one before...

I just want to make sure that there was nothing required to build these things that will slowly be outputting some substance that will slowly be killing me.

My best uneducated guess is that if the powder coating is scraped off the dust *might* be toxic.

Snort it daily like a 70's porn star with a bag of coke and you might be in trouble.

Their standards are whack.

Still in the courts I think.

Prop 65 warnings became a boondoggle. The law is so absurdly defined that there are California law firms that specialize in Prop 65 lawsuits. They will find anything on the list to file suit against manufacturers and businesses that will cost large sums to defend, so the cheaper alternative is ridiculous labeling to avoid frivolous litigation. One often cited example is Disneyland. Throughout the amusement park and home of Mickey Mouse, there are Prop 65 warnings.
