I never went full frame with Sony cameras and I have a lot of the W batteries. Is it really worth the extra money for the A7III if you are only planing on using it for photos??

God created the beauty. My camera and I are a witness..

Depends on the type of photos. The newer cameras (A7iii, A7Riii) have some major autofocus improvements and general speed improvements, along with the larger capacity batteries.

For landscape/architecture/product photography the A7Rii is fine, and offers higher resolution.

For portraits the newer eye-AF is nice, and for sports the faster/better AF and faster burst rate is useful.

I know this is late... but I would second this. I use my RII for mostly scenics and astro stuff.... no reason to upgrade it to the III or IV for that stuff..... extra mpx would be nice.... but 42 is more than enough for my needs today.
