I use Lexar and Sandisk, but recently discovered that the Lexar colors are yellow-ish, specially with cloudy weather.

Last week I did a test indoor with both cards, (RAW is the same result), first one is Lexar, second Sandisk. (sorry for the unsharp one, due to low shutterspeed)

Beyond one being Lexar and one Sandisk, there is a 1-stop difference between the two images (1/8 vs. 1/4 second) that is more likely the explanation.

There just isn’t any technical reason to explain a difference in card brand and “coloration” (for lack of a better term). I’m not saying you don’t show a difference, just that you need to look somewhere other than the cards.

I asked earlier and you did not respond but what camera are you using. There is a high probability that the Extreme or Extreme Pro exceed the camera capability and thus you should probably be driven by price and reliable source.

While the Extreme pro might be "overkill" for the camera, it will also help with downloading speed to a computer. He might not see the difference in camera, but he will see it on the back end.

Also, if he ever upgrades his camera to lets say a 5D mark IV, or a 1Dx flavor, the faster card will help.

Considering the cost difference in the Extreme pro VS a slower card, I think its worth the premium.

What cards are readily available in your area/country? A matter of wallet comfort relative to the performance you would want. If you aren't machine gunning the frames and the load times into the computer are not of concern having the fastest card isn't necessary. It is nice if your hardware can use it though.

During some of my travels brands like SanDisk and Lexar had premium 2.5X prices overseas relative to buying them stateside. Have enough storage capacity, getting low is not fun to have to find a shop that sells memory cards. If you can download them into your computer or cloud storage at the end of each day, this is less of a concern to have lots of storage available.

John's suggestion above is a nice performing card, that 90MB/s is a good spot.

This site has some of the best testing information of cards and cameras on the Internet (since the demise of Galbraith's site). Perusing its information gives you a good idea of where speed and price meet the point you want.

That link takes the OP to cards tested with the EOS R. Since the OP has a T6, a better link might be https://www.cameramemoryspeed.com …s-t6i/sd-card-comparison/ (external link)

Here on the local amazon sandisk kingston lexar and transcend are available. Sandisk has the best pricing and selection as they have all the lines of card listed on their site... thank you for the link for the transcend card. It is available here also as well in India, do you suggest that would be a good fit for the T6 to shoot full HD video?

The T6 manual reads "When shooting movies, use a large-capacity SD card rated SD Speed Class 6 or higher" and the Transcend I linked to is a Class 10 so it should work fine. I'm not sure of your experience with video and this camera, but the maximum length of a recorded video is just short of 30 minutes or 4 GB, whichever comes first. Once you reach that limit, you can stop recording and then restart, and the limit then again applies. The 30 minutes is a legal thing and it has to do with defining a still camera with video capability vs. a true video camera. The 4 GB limitation is a maximum file size limit for most computer operating systems. From a practical standpoint, on a 32 GB card you should be able to get about 4 hours of video.

I have one question, do kingston, transcend and others make their own memory for use in their cards.. or is it sourced from somebody else..

See https://www.crucial.com …bout-memory-manufacturers (external link). You could use the search feature and find some in depth input from “eelnoraa”. He/she is in the industry and has contributed a lot with respect to memory over the years.

Don’t let the answer sway you to one particular brand. The Transcend seems like it will be fine for your needs and I suspect the price is attractive.
