Has anyone used one of these extensively outdoors? I want to get a godox ad600 or xplor 600 however I can possibly get an rt400 for a very good price. It seems like it has all the features I need and I do really like the display on it however I know its about 1/3 less powerful I plan to use it outdoors to do car photography with and I'm just curious if there happens to be any car photographers or outdoor shooters that have experience with this light, thanks!

Adorama had it on sale last Xmas for $199. I was tempted but I already have the Xplor 600. I do have the Orlit 600AC TTL strobe, couple of their RT speedlights, and the TR-Q6 transmitter. Their RT radio system works well out of the box for my Canon bodies.

$199?! Wow. I just paid $375 for a like new orlit rt610 with a transmitter, could be worse

Personally, I find the Orlit series a best buy (I have the 601, a couple of their speedlights and the Rover RT). The Orlit Rover Pack/n/Head https://www.adorama.com/orlfrlrtk.html (external link) is really nice, but less output.

I am surprised to read that people are mixing the Xplor (Godox) strobes with Orlit (Jinbei). It's my understanding that their controllers are proprietary. Are you thinking of combining the Xplor and Orlits with the same wireless trigger ?

I actually ended up scooping up an orlit RT610 with its respective transmitter for $375

Well, they can not be linked directly, but I found a work around by adding a RT receiver, the YongNuo YNE3-RX, to the mix setup. Basically with a Godox XT1 or Xpro seating on top of YN RX, the Orlit RT trigger (TR-Q6 or the RT600 speedlight) can control the Group A of the Godox transmitter, in manual mode with HSS, and left the Xpro's Group B to E to controll other Godox lights manually with sync.

On this test shot, I used the Orlit RT-600C as the transmitter, YNE3-RX + Xpro as relay, and fire the Flashpoint Rapid 600 (Godox QT 600II) in HSS.
