I'm thinking about getting this body in September.

When is moire likely to exhibit?

I got this body a couple of months ago. Taken a bunch of photos and never experienced any moire. I think it’s one of those internet “experts “ who never used the camera and can’t afford it trying to make stuff up. I’m not saying moire will never happen, I’m saying it hasn’t happened to me. And if it does show up, software will correct the issue.

... I just learned that there's no Magic Lantern for the 5Ds R. Now, I probably don't want one. :\

it happens in tightly woven patterns. like shirts, shingle roof tops, stuff like that. It can be corrected somewhat, but you probably won't notice it all that much.

Canon doesn’t say that. Canon states that the chances are greater. Here is the wording right from Canon:

Low-Pass Filter Cancellation
While the LPF's purpose is to minimize the moiré and false color artifacting inherent in digital imaging, it does reduce resolving power of the sensor. The EOS 5DS R camera's LPF cancellation effect delivers greater sharpness and finer detail, useful in specialized situations, but the possibility of moiré and color artifacting is greater however. Fortunately, there are methods to help eliminate these effects while capturing and during post-processing.

"While the LPF's purpose is to minimize the moiré"

How is that not saying that there is Moire? They say the filter is to reduce it, the 5DSR does not have one creating a possibility that it will have more than a camera with the LPF.

The filter MINIMIZES moire. Not eliminates it. I know from personal experience that moire is not an issue with the 5DsR.

I've noticed all higher res cameras can exhibit moire with certain applications. Most specifically, I noticed fabric with texture from the Nikon D800 looked like it had some weird moire when viewing a full sized jpeg through Windows 7 Picture Viewer having it scale to monitor with UHD resolution. With Windows 10, I think the default app is better about not having artifacts with such extreme scaling. But it would probably still be optimal to size in editor for intended use.

That is exactly what I said... I said that it reduces it. And yea, I had the 5DsR also. I found that it had moire with shirts and roof tops. Was it unusable? no. But yea, it showed up more than any other body I have used. Its still a great camera, I dont know why you are arguing about something that Canon has already said would be a bigger issue with this body.

That was my impression, but technically he didn't state either.
