Mostly dangerous if threatening/being too close to cubs or scaring them off of food; otherwise, they’re generally of an avoidance tendency.

When they cross over into towns/habitations the conflict is a bit more. But out like this, they don’t regularly get too aggressive.

American Black Bears are typically not aggressive towards humans. Of course there are exceptions .... if they feel threatened, if people get between a mother and her cubs and the most dangerous element .... If people have fed the bears and they associate humans with food. At that point they can be very unafraid and aggressive!
