This location is considered one of the best in the world for viewing puffins if you're in for a road trip. They nest on a rocky island 50' from shore, then fly over to the viewing spot and land practically at your feet to gather nesting material. Levina de Ruijter wrote in post #18882957 Sweet shot, Ian. Could have used a second week though. Achieved all of my trip objectives (Pics of moose, puffins, gannet nesting site, icebergs) except the moose. I saw a moose mother and calf our first night on the island but it was dark and foggy. Just lucky I was going real slow due to the fog AND the moose warning signs. You really don;t want to hit one of them! IAN - Living life on the shores of the Wallace River in northern Nova Scotia, Canada :

There are plenty of collisions with moose here in Vermont, which is why I can never understand why so many people don't use caution when passing horses with riders on the roads. I've had more close calls over the years than I care to remember. A horse can be as big as a moose, and more unpredictable. I really am enjoying your photos here, and on Facebook. Keep them coming! *Sandy* "If we all had positive attitudes...we could change the world"
