I have seen a couple of references to changing the fps rate on 7D cameras in some threads. I usually have shot sports in high speed continuous but for T&F with the exception of the jumps and especially for for cross country, 10 fps is not really needed but 3 fps is a bit too slow. Can the rate be changed? Thanks.

No. The drive modes are fixed. Silent continuous is supposed to give 4 FPS but I've never tried it.

Thank you for the information. I have only really tried the silent single shooting mode as well

Isn't there a high speed continuous and low speed continuous?

Thanks for the information. I will have to get my manual out and dig through it again. Since it appears that you can adjust either one, maybe will leave the high speed continuous rate the same and just increase the low speed continuous rate.

The QuickGuide at http://gdlp01.c-wss.com …0/01/eos7d-mk2-qrg-en.pdf (external link) might be useful. Print it double sided on some decent paper and carry it with you. What you are after is under "Drive Mode", 2nd page, lower left corner.

LOL. I made a comment based on my use of the camera which excludes the use of that customization. My bad. Nothing to get bent out of shape about, chappy.

Yes you can change the fps rate. On my camera high speed remains at 10 while I have moved low speed up to 7. You also have silent which defaults to 4 as someone already mentioned.

If I remember correctly the back wheel changes which speed mode you are using. I switch to high speed maybe once every couple of years so you might want to check the manual to confirm.

Better yet, put the PDF into the storage of your smartphone and avoid carrying a book all the time.

That is what I have done. Works great.
