Few macros from the Western ghats of India

Just concluded a macro tour of the richly biodiverse Agumbe, located in the Western ghats, was leading the tour as a macro mentor.

Great pictures. Love the Owlfly hidden by the twig.
What snake is that? Looks like a Pit Viper of some sort.

Thank you, I personally enjoyed making that image of the owlfly.
the viper is a brown-spotted green morph of the Malabar pit viper

Fantastic. WERE you as close to that pit viper as it looks? And from the eye, it seems you used flash. They don’t get spooked? Or is that when he bit you? I hope not.

Was about a foot from the viper, had just the 60mm macro and had to get that close. The Flash didn't bother it in any way, was resting in the exact same position as we found it in, once we were done with our images
