These are some great shots here Sean, as I saw them previously when you posted in my NYC thread. What really catches me is the toning. It just seems to give the photos more meaning. I can't really describe it much, it's certainly a good thing though. I have been trying similar toning techniques. In my opinion, the faded color adds much more than a simple B&W, setting a time period for the photo and a mood.
While I like #3 "the coy fan", I feel like you went a bit far with the sharpening. It seems a bit too sharp, especially around the right lady's right shoulder (her right), looks like it needs some antialiasing or something.
