I have one question, and please understand, it's genuine:
What do you get from having it lit up six different ways to Sunday?

I simply don't grasp the desire to have it lit up like a ballpark
during a night game. If I want my room's light low, I want
ALL the light to be low, not just traditional lamps.

I do understand the "cool" look-factor, but doesn't the novelty get old?
I've also read reports of various product lights varying in hue/intensity
after some time; it may well happen with your components.

It’s just something fun to do and helps to show it off. Why do people add new wheels on a new car? It’s basically a way to make it your own and have it stand out. When you do get tired of it you can always disable the lights.
