I have four GODOX V860's. I wanted to control each with a Godox XTR16S. I also purchased a new Godox X2T transmitter. I can get the channels synced up just fine, but the flash fires no matter what group I set on the XTR16S. I turn off all groups on the X2T controller and the flash still fires. I cannot find any information on the XTR16s (it just came in a small box, no documentation).

So, what am I missing? Why can I not control TTL to Manual, or power level, or group? If I set the flashes manually, I can fire them OK, but cannot turn off or on a group, or change the power settings.

The XTR16s manual is downloadable from here (external link) (all the manuals and firmware downloads are on the Godox downloads page (external link)).

You should have group control, but iirc, the XT16/XTR16/XTR16s system was just a drop-in replacement for the old 433 MHz FT16/FTR16/FTR16s system, which predated the X1's release, so it doesn't do TTL at all. If you want TTL/TCM remote control, you have to update to the V860II speedlights, or other Godox TTL lights with the built-in 2.4 GHz transceiver (TT685, V1, AD200, etc).

Maybe post some pictures of how you have things set up? And what camera system/brand are you using?

Actually, as you point out, it was a misunderstanding on my part. I assumed that because the flash does TTL, the wireless would accomodate TTL through the remotes. Not so . . . it only does manual (which I do mostly anyway).

Thanks for the reply . . .

Hello,

I don't know if you still have your X2T. I have two Godox flashes with XTR16 and XTR16s receivers and got a X2T trigger. I get the same issues than you:

* can't turn off groups (in some conditions, I can turn the group on)
* the flash is fired even if the XT2 have the group set to off
* the flash is fired even if I put the XTR16 receiver in channels greater than 'E'

Things that works:
* I can change the flash power
* I can fire the flash in normal or HSS speeds

I have a XProP/XproC and I have not any issue with legacy flashes/XTR16 receivers.

Regards.

I have Godox the XTR 16 transmitter and the XTR 16 receiver. The received has a male USB port in the back. How can I fire a White Lightning 600 using this set up. No one makes an adapter from a USB to a 1/4 inch mono plug. Any ideas?

You can't. You probably need to get a Godox X1R receiver and cable it to the WL. The XTR16 and XTR16s both use proprietary connectors (USB-A, and four-pin) you don't find on non-Godox lights.
