Jul 21, 2019 14:01 | #3 My interest would be with a sports minded crop camera - 7DII replacement - mirrorless or not. When you see my camera gear you'll think I'm a pro.

If it is a 90D, hope it is more than just a warm-over of the 80D. Time will tell. I agree - I’d love a new replacement for the 7DII... I’m a little concerned if they bring the two lines together. Only time will tell

I am just offering my opinion, I won’t spend money on something that isn’t a major improvement over what I have. Canon doesn’t seem to want to innovate anymore and seems to be playing follow the leader now. Other companies are offering options that look like a much better direction to go now, look at the awesome Nikon PF lenses that are reasonably affordable and much smaller and lighter than what Canon is giving us.

Jul 22, 2019 18:41 | #12 Canonuser123 wrote in post #18897928 Sony has been releasing great new bodies like the A9 and is now filling out its lens lineup with some nice new options like the new 200-600mm, better balanced lenses with the weight bias being moved closer to the camera body so as to make hand holding easier. Interesting how Canon's situation is so different from Sony. vadenphotography.com

Sony's bodies for a while where just "C" grade at best with problems and bad ergonomics mixed with a few upgrades. Finally getting a little bit better. But Sony also works hand in hand with Zeiss to cover a lot of glass, and I think Zeiss may be somewhat reliant on Sony now for a chunk of its own income. Canon for the more part, is working in its own house for bodies and glass. With Canon's new RF lenses being so excellent lately, the thought came to mind whether Canon may have its eye on supplanting Zeiss as a premium lens manufacturer. I had an α6000, it was a very good camera but I wasn’t ready to commit to all new lenses at the time so I traded it towards my 5D mark III for its better low light capabilities. I have a mirrorless Canon M3, it has horrible AF compared to anything I ever used, not all my EF mount lenses work right with including my Canon 70-200 f4 IS.
